Torque Reduction
Torque Reductionispercentagechangeintorquevaluebetweensuccessivedatapoints.That
is,thematerialyieldsorbeginstobreakdownand,asaresult,themeasuredincrementaltorque
beginstodecrease.Avalueof100%forthisparametercausesthetesttostopassoonasthere
arenotorqueincreasesduringabasetimeincrement.Someusersmaywishtoseeadropin
torqueaftertheyieldpoint.Settingthisparametertovaluesgreaterthan100%allowsdatato
becollectedaftertheyieldpointbytheEZ-Yield
TM
softwaresothedecreaseintorquemaybe
moreeasilyvisualized.However,thiswillalsoaffectthecalculatedyieldstressvalue.
TIP:Brookeldrecommendsatorquereductionvalueof100%.
Yield Limits
ThesestressvaluescanbeusedasaQualityControltool.Iftheresultingyieldstressfroma
testfallsoutsidetheselimits,anappropriatemessageisdisplayedandprintedwiththeresults.
Enteringzero(0)forboththeseparametersdisablesthisQCfeature.
